Had SO much fun speaking with Professor Fisher's class at NYU. Topics included: the power of anonymous art, creative placemaking, the economics of alternative medicine, feminism, art-as-intervention and about a million other creative-nerd-activist-type things ! Great night.
What a fun conversation with seniors in the dance department of the University of Colorado at Boulder! Many thanks to Sydney Skybetter and Erika Randall for inviting me. We talked about art and community-building, personal brand-management, making art-work-life a fluid practice, managing the business and passion of making work, and the ups and downs of being a woman in the arts.
I was a featured speaker and the title of my talk was, "How Can Cultivating Habits of Curiosity, Exploration and Collaboration Support Relationships with Our Bodies and Our Health?"
Had so much fun experiencing, sharing, and moderating the discussion at Hotel New Work where the topic was, "Living A Creative Life." Apparently it got a write-up in Ask A New Yorker: Revealing Dances and the Choreography of Society at TheaterLab. It seems I said, “Art is not something you do. Art is something you are.” Love it when I surprise myself, out loud and on the record .
